GRIPdigital Advances CTP Calibration Tools in North American Marketplace

LaGrange, IL, February 2005 - GRIPdigital - the CTP calibration leader, is upgrading the industry to the most advanced tool set for CTP measurement, the TECHKON DMS910 Digital Microscope and DMS Pro software. The DMS stands alone in the ability to see and eliminate any plate artifacts prior to measurement. The company now separates from older dotmeter technology by seeing plate grain profiles, critical to achieving and maintaining ink and water balance on the press. New hardware and software specifications apply to any increase in demand of finer screen rulings in CTP.

Replacing the six-year-old technology with the TECHKON innovation was crucial to advancing CTP such as 10-micron plate measurements.

The compact DMS910 includes a wider sample with a self contained CMOS chip for reliable measurement of plate dot values of any plate, with a built-in optical advantage (120x) over dotmeters. The Digital MicroScope optically enhances the dot shoulder aspect (120x) of dot shapes before measurements, usually at twice the speed of typical dotmeters. In CTP, it is critical to accurately threshold spots from three-dimensional plate surfaces, especially on higher screen rulings.
