GRIPdigital-Distributed Centurfax Digital DotMeter®
Has Enhanced Stochastic Screening Capability
LaGrange, IL, July 2002—GRIPdigital—the exclusive
distributor in North and South America for the Centurfax Digital
DotMeter® product line—has announced the availability
of an optional enhancement making the popular equipment a must for
control in both prepress and pressroom areas. According to GRIPdigital
president Greg Imhoff, “While the Centurfax Digital DotMeter
has long been used to read stochastic (often called FM) screening,
the resolution of the device has now been increased to 14,000 dpi,
permitting dots as small as 20 microns in diameter to be read reliably
on either plates or prints.”
Far more accurate and robust than conventional densitometers, yet
easier to use, the Centurfax Digital DotMeter has become the standard
for plate calibration. In addition, the consistency and repeatability
of the device make it popular with press operators, and in the prepress
area. Because the Centurfax Digital DotMeter can read both conventional
and stochastic dot values, in addition to ink and film densities,
it is the preferred portable plate reader in the industry.
GRIPdigital is the exclusive distributor in North and South America
for the Centurfax Digital DotMeter® product line and for Ugra
products. Headed by color expert Greg Imhoff, the company specializes
