For Flexographic Printers

product line—has announced the immediate availability of the
Centurfax FlexoDot, the only self-contained handheld system for
measuring reliable dot values for flexographic printing media. Based
upon the award-winning Centurfax CCDot digital DotMeter—which
has become the standard of lithographic measurement—the FlexoDot
utilizes a revolutionary surface sensing technology predicated on
recent optical developments in the medical industry. The first prototype
of the FlexoDot was nominated for a Technical Innovations Award
in a major flexographic trade publication.
The Centurfax FlexoDot is a reflective device, and thus can be
operated consistently anywhere with no moving parts. It works automatically—calibrating,
reading and seeing halftones on any color or thickness of a flexographic
plate material, whether metal backed, capped or not. Unlike other
devices which read flexographic plates, the Centurfax FlexoDot does
not require powerful tabletop computers and software to interpret
data. The FlexoDot viewing system—which can obtain data anywhere
on any flexographic plate—produces a true, positive black
image of actual plate dot shapes and patterns. Plate images and
all data can be seen and read on the FlexoDot integral display screen.
Software included with the FlexoDot permits calibrating plate imaging
and exposure systems, capturing halftone images, and measuring those
images in lines per inch, screen ruling and angle.
